The inspiration is a photo in the April 2019 issue of Sound on Sound magazine, and it actually may not be an April Fools’ joke.
The photo is of Brian May’s (of Queen) Allerton Hill recording studio where two Vox AC30 amplifiers are placed on top of the mixing console as nearfield monitors.
