The toms track might have been troublesome, but by gating it or editing it so that it is only active when the toms are played preserves the clarity of the rest of the mix.
Because you may like to listen to the drums fairly loud in your monitors, the level of the speech is a little lower than in most other Audio Masterclass videos.
