Visionary Solutions unveils PacketAV Duet wallplate encoder at InfoComm 2019

At InfoComm 2019 in Orlando, Visionary Solutions (Booth 3914) will introduce their new PacketAV™ Duet Wallplate Encoder, which provides powerful 4K UHD video and Dante™/AES67 audio encoding over gigabit Ethernet in a convenient wallplate form-factor. The new PacketAV Duet Wallplate is the only 4K UHD AV-over-IP encoder on the market that fits into a two-gang, U.S.- or UK-style back box with no modification to the electrical box, saving installers significant effort. It mounts into standard Decora-style wallplates for use in a wall, tabletop, lectern, or floor box. This form factor is very difficult to achieve because of the power requirements and associated heat dissipation of currently available IP compression technology, and only Visionary Solutions has delivered it.

The PacketAV Duet Wallplate supports   Dante/AES67 audio embedding and de- embedding, USB over IP (KVM), RS232 over IP, and IR over IP and is HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compliant. It features front-panel HDMI input and RS-232 and USB ports, as well as IR and line-level audio in and out, with power, link, and level LED metering.

The encoder offers one rear-mounted LAN port, so integrators can power over Ethernet (standard PoE), as well as connecting Dante/AES67 audio, 4K UHD video, and control devices, all with one cable drop. The 45 degree Ethernet connector allows easy access from any side of electrical boxes, while providing bend radius relief for category cable-a feature unavailable in other encoding products.

With networked AV systems, AV-over-IP endpoints must be designed to "live" on converged networks with other IT devices, and IT departments expect these devices to adhere to accepted network administration rules. The Visionary Solutions PacketAV Duet wallplate encoder enables a single, converged audio- and video-over-IP network and supports enterprise-level security, including AES encryption, 802.1x, HTTPS, and SSH.
