@rabit818: Food poisoning from Crosley unknown/mystery materials. I hear lawsuit.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @rabit818: Two-star food poisoning. I suspect some gourmets will chance it.
@DawlessHouseMusic: Finally, a good use of a Crosely!
@ericberger6966: The vinyl hype passed the climax when a kitchen chef use a new "Record Player" for cooking.
@MichaelSaamone: Cooking Hostile .
@humblestever24: Wot? two stars? I'd give five or not bother.
We're obsessed by food nowadays and where has that gotten us?
Back in the good ol' days : from Bach to the Beatles on your record player as those kindly souls @the BBC would have once enlightened us. Who would have guessed?
@DJStanSteel: We call it theatrics. It tried to look cool on TV but it’s a bit stupid as electric rotating Cake stands with variable speed adjustments can be bought. Would I ever play anything on a box with a speaker added .. “NO” Unless it was a late 60’s - 70’s Grundig, Phillips, Fegurson Stereo system with radio like my folks had and we played all their pop collection and Nat king cole albums as kids.
@markcarrington8565: Crossley should be using this in their marketing. “A record player for less than the price of your lunch” 😂
@SPINNINGMYWHEELS777: is that a cool Gerbil pad with those NS10's gracing the living room? 😅
@AudioMasterclass replies to @SPINNINGMYWHEELS777: Comment readers may understand the humour here better than I do, but the only pad on my desk is an Apple Magic Trackpad in the classic 1st generation version. No it is not for sale. Nor are my two others.
@mathumphreys: I just came here for the music.
@billmilosz: That's the best use for one of these Crosleys.
@nabman_: These Timbits are wobbling off center.
@thomaslutro5560: A turntable is the part of a record player spinning the record. Once you put a tonearm and a pickup cartridge on it, it's a record player.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @thomaslutro5560: Or, as a commenter on a previous video stated, the turntable alone without the arm and without the plinth is merely the 'motor unit'.
@thomaslutro5560 replies to @thomaslutro5560: @@AudioMasterclass Or maybe we could stretch to calling a motor unit with plinth and platter a turntable? Either way, I very much like the descriptive precision of record player about a complete machine which plays records. Not snobbishly calling it a a 'rig' or some other pretentious tribal term. Did I mention my cringe at monobloc in place of mono amp? Audiophiles.... OK. I'm recovering, getting better, but not quite there yet.... 😄
@arnone1862: as a DJ, I too once did something "extraordinary" on a Technics SL1210... 🙄
@gingernutpreacher replies to @arnone1862: Sex or drugs?
@arnone1862 replies to @arnone1862: @@gingernutpreacher 3 click orbit scratch
@ericdere: Would 33.3 taste any different from 45 rpm?
@jimdavis5230: An old 1960's BSR Monarch would be better for this as long as you remove the centre spindle.
@Jan-m5c2r: What is the difference between a grammophone and a turntable? 50+ years and an acrylic cover 🙂
@mikesearle1649: pottery on an sl1200 is worth a try..bet that wont work either!
@AudioMasterclass replies to @mikesearle1649: It’s direct drive. You might have to worry about cogging.
@andymouse: How is simple piping, on a' no idea what' cookery ?
@thexfile.: Muddy vinyl..😄
@ac81017: I've always dreamed of an EMT948/950, Luxman Pd555 or a Sony ps x9. Guess i'll just dream on.
@MrSlipstreem: Why a Crosley? I can only assume that it's exact wow and flutter specifications were taken into account relating to the desired finished surface texture.
@Roosville1: I would have thought a deck with a 16 2/3 RPM selection would have been a better choice, strange times we live in.....
@gingernutpreacher replies to @Roosville1: Thats a old BSR
@theknight8668: I work in a restaurant in the uk it’s quite a regular thing to be fair cake making on them is a thing too
