The return of the Electro Harmonix Dirt Road Special
The much-anticipated remake of our venerable 1970s Dirt Road Special amp is here. It features modern enhancements to its electronics and mechanical design for improved durability, plus four reverbs from our Holy Grail Max reverb pedal.
The new Dirt Road Special features a 40W and a 12" speaker, as well as spring, hall, plate and reverse reverbs from the EHX Holy Grail Max pedal that can be selected with the included footswitch.

@ShakeTheMasses: What they don’t really explain is that the sound is recorded and levels are adjusted for the video. To get near any kind of overdrive sound you need to crank this amp. And it’s loud. But it handles pedals really well so a decent OD or distortion pedal sounds great at low volumes.

I see at the beginning of the demo that even with the volume low at around 10 o'clock, the amp is already breaking down. it's right? Isn't there enough clean to work jazz with a trio?

@DerpRulesGotham: Most amps with Reverb just have 'depth.' The fact that you can control the timing makes it into more of a Delay effect.

Yes, the Reverse reverb algorithm is the same in the Cathedral, Dirt Road Special, and Oceans 11/12.

@rosiesrecords: I had the original Mike Matthews Dirt Road Special from the 70's and what a great amp for a kid in his first band. It kept up with all the other members gear and the crashing loud drummer. The original had the Small Stone Phase in it which was cool, but the new version with the reverb seems more versatile. I'm actually selling a few amps to make room for this one. I have to have it. It's a blast from MY past and it really help define my first "sound". I want it back now, some 40 years later. That's EH and thanks for making a great demo of this wonderful little under rated amp. Mike was a genius.

@Manic.Attack: Dang I want this! Sounds awesome, and that reverse reverb is pretty sick, as well as the bite control. Would love to run some synths into it too, the bite control would be nice for sculpting extra harmonics from the drive. Yummy..
