SSL Matrix console is weapon of choice for pro private studios

Two years since its launch at the show SSL’s Matrix returns triumphant to Musikmesse 2010 with proven sales success and a string of notable producers making the console the heart of their studios in recent weeks. Sales of SSL’s Matrix console sprinted past the 200 mark last year and this year success for the console is taking on a frenzied pace with a growing list of notable artists and producers adopting the console for their private production facilities. The combination of SSL SuperAnalogue™ summing mixer, software controlled analogue patch system and DAW hardware controller in a single streamlined control surface is perfect for the way professional producers are working today.

"A great many successful artists and producers are building a signature sound around a collection outboard and they want to integrate it into a DAW based workflow." Comments Jim Motley, Head Of Business XLogic Products at SSL. "Matrix uniquely offers an extremely high quality summing mixer and software controlled patch system that solves their analogue integration challenges. Couple that with the elegant DAW control aspects of Matrix and it is easy to see why it is proving to be such a winning formula."

Recent new Matrix owners include Timbaland who has installed one in his tour bus along with 7 X-Racks full of SSL analogue processing, South Beach Studios in Miami where Matrix goes into a room occupied by Grammy winning mix engineer Andrew Coleman whose regular clients include the Neptunes. Danja & Miss Lago have put one into their new private facility. In the UK Snow Patrol have just put Matrix into their first private studio and Steve Booker, who just can’t stop producing platinum hits has made one the centre of his system.

About Matrix:

Matrix is a SuperAnalogueâ„¢ 16 channel, 40 input, line level mixing console with inbuilt signal router and multi-layer digital workstation control of up to four DAWs simultaneously. Matrix is ideal for any smaller studio installation where the focus is on state-of-the-art audio production and capture.
