@Planardude: As an audio review I found this post most disappointing, When the chair was in the lowest position the bass had more slam and impact. In the highest position the treble was transparent and life like with crystal clear imaging, When the chair was reclined the midrange was more laid back and relaxed. When you got out of the chair the channel separation was accentuated, I would hope that in future videos you would be more focused on the needs of the audiophile community. We really need to be told what we like,
@humblestever24: Look, I just wanted to check in and say hello to Betty, Debbie, Audio Phil and the bloke who collects Zuck's throw-away grey t-shirts and say thanks for their efforts this year. If it seems a bit early for this it's because my boat is leaving for the Bahamas.
Much love.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @humblestever24: The difference between Zuck and me is that his t-shirts are Brunello Cucinelli or equivalent at around £400 - £600 each. Mine are Gildan Ultra at £4 each in a six-pack (including shipping).
@John-ic6zo: Prison uniform?...Inmates are well dressed 🤔
@cunawarit: I absolutely love your speaker stands! It’s so refreshing to see an audio YouTube channel that’s both pragmatic and realistic about equipment. Let’s be honest—most of us have a power strip duct-taped somewhere, a Raspberry Pi discreetly tucked behind something, or even a speaker propped up on a plastic box. Seeing this level of relatability and practicality is a breath of fresh air in the often over-polished world of audio content!
@TheAntibozo: Wait, what about the prison uniform? Do you have a colourful past? I again insist that Terence Stamp portray you in the movie about your life, although admittedly you are much younger in appearance. Best wishes for continued recovery.
@techcafe0: that foot rest looks a little janky to say the least
@Cola.Cube.: That unboxing tune is bangin. lol
@michaeldeloatch7461: When I saw the episode caption, my first thought was "what, he's already broken the first chair?" What a delightful peek behind the green screen scenes. However, it appears you may be just an ordinary mortal like me. How the scales are fallen from my eyes now.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @michaeldeloatch7461: I try to become a little more ordinary every day.
@RichardDowns-ve5bq: Nice chair. Seems like it adjust in any direction needed. And the price seems is right too. BTW, I like your videos a lot.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @RichardDowns-ve5bq: It's a nice chair. I imagine there must be even better chairs at possibly higher price points but this model works well for me.
@jimdavis5230: I am surprised that you can get good sound in that room without bass standing waves. My audio room is slightly bigger at 12' by 10.5'. In order to obtain standing wave free superb audio I had to build and install 40 large bass traps. Half of them are deep porous velocity traps and the other half are sealed limp membrane pressure traps. The membrane traps are tuned to absorb the standing waves and they work superbly. Without the traps my audio room sounded dreadful at bass and treble frequencies. In total the traps cost me slightly over £3000 to build. However, the end result is astonishingly good and was worth all the effort to build them and the cost of materials. Many people think that you can't have large speakers in a small listening room. Well you can if you know what you are doing and install extensive acoustic treatment.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @jimdavis5230: You have my admiration, not only in the results you describe but in the £3000 bet you placed that you would get them. It seems to have worked out well for you and you have my congratulations.
@jimdavis5230 replies to @jimdavis5230: @@AudioMasterclass Thanks David however, building and installing them was bloody hard work. I used the easily available equations to build and tune the membrane pressure traps. Luckily limp membrane traps are also wide bandwidth which makes them suitable for home building. I used 2mm thick rubber sheet for the membranes and made the boxes from plywood and pine timber. I used caulk sealant to make the boxes air tight and covered them with black hessian fabric. I also blocked the whole window with a 12' deep velocity porous trap because the window was causing some nasty standing waves. I have found by measurement and calculation that in most average size rooms the nasty sounding standing waves are usually between 80Hz and 110Hz. These form a one whole wavelength standing wave between opposite walls. The lower frequency standing waves that form a half wavelength between opposite walls are not so nasty on the ear. Careful speaker placement and listening position easily gets around these standing waves. I can send you the equations for building the membrane traps if you are interested.
@Roddy451: What a "gawful" mess... No, I do not care at all.
@451804: Loving the purple toed socks. I have 2 pair just like yours. Also very ergonomic, by the liberal definition of the word
@AudioMasterclass replies to @451804: Sainsbury’s. Hiding my purple toenails.
@RichardDevlin-er4ce replies to @451804: @@AudioMasterclassnow, are you trying to tell us something with that statement ?, or maybe your toes are trying to tell you something !
@AudioMasterclass replies to @451804: Not kidding but my feet have grown. My favourite Nike knockoffs don’t go to the next size. Will video if 100 requests.
@RichardDevlin-er4ce replies to @451804: @@AudioMasterclass I reckon that if your feet are truly growing as you state, you should capture this growth, in a series of vids ..
@AudioMasterclass replies to @451804: You jest, but there's no telling what will blow up on YouTube. I think though that I said my feet have grown - a combination of putting on weight and fallen arches. If they are *growing*... well yes there could be a YT channel for that. We'll see..
@stevengagnon4777: First thing I noticed....those carefully chosen speaker stands. As a fellow audiophile I'm certain they were chosen to enhance the low end of the base response.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @stevengagnon4777: I might test this in a video at some point. Then follow up with why it doesn’t matter. Such fun.
@MrSlipstreem replies to @stevengagnon4777: @@AudioMasterclass I LOVE the why it doesn't matter aspect of so many things in life. I'd far rather be enjoying something than worrying about it.
@nicoras8803 replies to @stevengagnon4777: @@AudioMasterclass You would be surprised what difference those boxes makes. It effectively increases the baffle area and should increase the bass response yo some extent.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @stevengagnon4777: @nicoras8803 Since I use them every day I am not surprised in the slightest. And since I have ‘proper’ £80 stands to compare them with, my surprise is even less.
@MrSlipstreem: It's a pleasure to finally meet Phil Light.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @MrSlipstreem: Comment readers may recognise the reference to Audio Phil, who graces my channel from time to time. I often ask his advice. The trick is whether I would be better off to take it or do the exact opposite.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @MrSlipstreem: OK, now I get the joke. Only took me a day and a half. Ha ha ha.
@JorgesPokémonJourney: Awesome workstation and advice. 👍🏼
