Countryman Associates to debut phantom power supply

Countryman Associates, recognized globally as a leading manufacturer of miniature microphones, direct boxes, and related audio products, will introduce the portable Phantom Power Supply during Winter NAMM 2020 in Anaheim, CA. Countryman’s characteristic combination of uncompromising high audio performance, flexible settings, and rugged build sets their new Phantom Power Supply apart from other devices which transmit DC electric power through microphone cables. With its combination of standout features, the Countryman Phantom Power Supply is poised to be an invaluable audio tool in both live and studio recording settings.

In keeping with Countryman industry-leading performance standards, the Countryman Phantom Power Supply delivers ultra-low noise for clean audio. Additionally, Countryman’s Phantom Power Supply offers flexible power options and selectable voltage settings. It can operate on one 9V battery, two 9V batteries for extended life, or a 9V wall adapter.  In addition, selectable 12V, 24V, and 48V voltage output settings allow the Countryman Phantom Power Supply to extend battery life for microphones which don’t require 48V power.

Recognizing that the new Phantom Power Supply offers performance that will make it a highly desirable tool not only in the studio but also on the road, the Countryman design team made certain the unit can withstand adverse conditions typically encountered in live performance environments. The Phantom Power Supply’s portable, compact form factor consists of a rugged die cast aluminum body and low-profile switches that make this unit ideally suited for life on the road.

Chris Countryman, President of Countryman Associates, commented on the company’s new offering, “Condenser microphones need rock solid power for maximum performance, particularly for low noise and high overload. Many mixers and audio inputs provide no phantom power, questionable power, or only provide it in switchable banks. We developed our Phantom Power Supply to deliver the cleanest power and the most options in the smallest possible size. We also built it unreasonably tough, because we wouldn’t make gear any other way.”

The new Countryman Phantom Power Supply is expected to be available Q1, 2020.
