@jeroenjeroen: Hello David,
Best wishes for you for the next year! Thanks for your honest and clear opinion.
Having a reasonably good setup here at home, I am disappointed by the source material to listen to. I hear flaws in almost every recording I used to like. That while I hoped to get even more enjoyment by a decent setup from my favorite music. Now I find myself searching for good recordings, even if it is not really my taste, but it's the only way to remotely enjoy my new audio system.
Do you have suggestions how to deal with this?
Thanks in advance!
@jeroenjeroen replies to @jeroenjeroen: @cunawarit That's true. I still pursue recordings where I can experience the beauty of the music and the 'perfect' recording, as good as it gets, combined...
@glennlove461: Phil: he's so special.
@jondu-sud274 replies to @glennlove461: @@glennlove461 He is the ONE (..shhh the matrix is watching)
@glennlove461 replies to @glennlove461: @@jondu-sud274 you gave Phil A red pill
@zackreuter6344: Phil is now officially a legend. Merry Christmas!
@Buuresack: KI generierter Dreck.Abartig.Scheußlich. Zum Kotzen.So wie die ganzen Audiofilen Volltrottel.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @Buuresack: Audiophiles! This guy has just insulted you. What do you say about that?
@Planardude: Merry Xmas to all, Audio Phil speaks to part of the listening community referred to as audiophiles. This is a noble gesture but somehow a significant number of listeners are totally ignored, I would propose that a significant group of listeners have been totally ignored, I would propose a significant group of listener's have been totally ignored, I would propose another group of listeners should be identified and I would refer to these as "musicophiles" I would consider myself as a member of this group as I am interested in getting the music rather than fretting about the possible differences that may or may not be discernable in audio equipment, Of course I will be dissed by the audiophile community for having "inadequate" systems but I have 3 systems that are in the plus $3000 dollar range so perhaps not the $100000 systems but into the range of what what most audiophiles could afford. I probably do 90% of my listening over studio monitors as they are convenient and readily accessible for the time I spent on my computer, Do they compare to my electrostatics, planar and tower speakers - of course not, But they are delightful music sources, I would suggest we replace the "audiophile" goals with the "musicophile" goals, I think most people would be happier,
@AudioMasterclass replies to @Planardude: Phil says that rather than respond in one sentence I should make a whole video on this topic, which I’m sure I’ll consider doing.
@Planardude replies to @Planardude: @@AudioMasterclass Thanks for the response' I am concerned of course a video may lack the unboxing and of course the annoying unboxing music which I am sure gains you the support of your 5 or 6 followers, There is also some risk involved - if you support the use of the term "musicophile" you will face the outrage of the audiophile community' I have experienced this form of prejudice personally , I was an early adopter of the CDs and was disparaged by my local "high end" audio shop. Yet a few years later they were championing home theatre - perhaps as digital as you can get. A common question that recurred frequently from sales was "how are your cables working for you" Being the stupid nonaudiophile I would explain that the electrons seemed to flow from my source to my preamp then my power amp and then to my speakers where I could hear glorious music, This did not resonate well, At any rate being a "musicophile" is fraught with danger, Proceed with this at your own risk,
@patwall8639: Happy Christmas David and best wishes for 2025.
@geoffreygriffiths1487: Boy that was creepy in a way that can only be done in AI. Have a Happy Christmas, and the best in 2025.
@bigbadbith8422: Best wishes. And thak Donald Duck you’re here!😊
@exact3: What the fuck is this? I liked a few of your videos but yeah, I'm out, just no.. Just.. No.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @exact3: You’re no fun.
@MichaelEdwards: Is it ironic that your sarcasm, though sincere, is humorous in it's veracity?
@NathanOakley1980: I got some very expensive interconnect RCA cables for Christmas.
I set £2000 on fire as I listen to them.
@AudioMasterclass replies to @NathanOakley1980: Phil approves whatever gives you pleasure (in audio).
@Voidoid77: Pah! humbug... Have a very Happy New Year, David - from an ex-pat, Scotsman in Japan...
