Reviving the unique IDOL body pioneered in 1999, Washburn today debuted two new IDOL Series electric guitars at Summer NAMM 2018 at Booth #1342 in Nashville’s Music City Center. According to Washburn Vice President & General Manager Gil Soucy, both models are available for immediate dealer delivery and offer players the very best combination of leading guitar electronics and classic Washburn sound.
“Washburn guitars are built for musicians who want great styling, the best materials and a true professional performance out of their instruments,” Soucy said. “Everything from the paintjobs to the electronics to the Buzz Feiten tuning system ensure these guitars will attract plenty of attention when buyers see them in stores.”
The new IDOL WIT16 VSK-D features a vintage sunburst design on the original IDOL body, USA Duncan® Stacked Tele pickups, a burled maple top, ash back, ebony fingerboard and hard maple neck. This model carries a MSRP of $1,426.90 (MAP of $799.00).
The new IDOL WIS26 MRK-D is a metallic red copper guitar with the original IDOL body, USA ‘59/Cust5 Duncan pickups and is wired with award-winning Variable Contour Control allowing the player to sweep through an infinite number of tone colors between humbucking and single coil. This model also carries a MSRP of $1,426.90 (MAP of $799.00).
The top, back and neck are mahogany, and the fingerboard is ebony. Both guitars feature the Buzz Feiten tuning system and include a gig bag with purchase.
