WilliamK's Wusik Introduces Wusikstation PC VSTi

July 9, 2004

WilliamK has announced a new project under the Wusik.com name: Wusikstation, a hybrid vector synth with wavesequencer sampler in Windows VST format.

The idea was to have a light synth capable of straightforward sample playback plus wavesequencing, without much overhead. Users can convert WAV files to WusikSND format, which the plug-in uses. To reduce CPU load, Wusikstation makes use of assembly and SSE instructions, but is still compatible with non-SSE processors.

The final release is expected to come with a complete library of presets (512) and around 400 MB of samples. New banks of presets and samples will also be released by Wusik.com latter on.

Wusikstation VSTi will be sold for $99.95, but for a limited time you can pre-order for the reduced price of $70.95.

Sampler details

  • The VST plays WusikSND files in 32 bit format. A tool to convert WAV to WusikSND files is included with the product. This tool is a batch converter, no GUI included. All you do is run the converter inside the directory you have all your WAV files you want to convert. Files will also need renaming so the converter knows how to properly convert.
  • You can install the Wusikstation.dll file in your VST folder, and keep all DATA (Samples, Banks, Skins) files in another directory, or even another drive. This is set during installation.
