Why can't we have pro studio quality reverb in our home recording studios?

Recordings that feature expensive pro studio reverbs are sometimes enviably better than can be achieved in the home studio. Are the manufacturers holding something back from us?
Why can't we have pro studio quality reverb in our home recording studios?

Question from a Audio Masterclass visitor...

Whenever I hear a really nice vocal reverb effect on the radio (Celine Dion etc.) it drives me crazy, because I've spent dozens of hours slaving over my Lexicon MPX 550 to trying to get close to the same reverb sound.

I know that Celine etc. are probably using a Lexicon 480L or similar, which is outside my price range, but I really wish that firms like Lexicon would do a deal with (say) ten top producers, with each one writing a vocal preset for the Lexicon MPX 550. What a great help for home studio songwriters like me!

What a great sales boost for Lexicon's mid-range units! What a status point for the ten producers chosen! Hell, give them each a free 480L for their time and effort!
It's a Win-Win-Win situation. And here's another one: why don't Lexicon supply a free mouse pad with every unit sold, with 20 suggested settings printed on it?

If anyone has a killer vocal reverb setting that will work on a Lexicon MX500/550, I'd be thrilled to see it published in Audio Masterclass
