TC Drops Some Native Products in Favor of PowerCore Development
March 15, 2004
The past year has seen the creation of the PowerCore FireWire and Element, as well as the announcement of several new 3rd party developers. PowerCore and its related plug-ins now account for almost 90% of the TC Electronic's computer recording revenue today. Because of this, TC announced a shift in company strategy to focus more resources on the PowerCore platform.
As a result, TC Electronic will be discontinuing further development of Spark and Native Bundle as of the current versions (Spark 2.8.2 and Native Bundle 3.1).
TC Electronic will continue to provide support to users of Spark and Native Bundle through TC Support Interactive. The PowerCore Platform
PowerCore is a DSP engine for professional signal processing for Mac and PC. Its processing power seamlessly integrates with any Audio Units- or VST compatible host application. PowerCore includes ten TC plug-ins right out of the box. Optional plug-ins are available from TC and a growing number of 3rd-party developers such as Sony, TC-Helicon, Access, Waldorf and D-Sound. PowerCore is available as a PCI card or external FireWire unit.
