peerSynth Collaborative Software Released
Music Making Comes to Peer-to-Peer Networks
From the creator of crusherX-Live! comes peerSynth, billed as the first peer-to-peer, multi-user software synthesizer, making it possible to make music together with other musicians wherever they may be, so long as they have an internet connection.
peerSynth provides you with an instrument that allows you to generate extreme sounds, controlling them with a few mouse-clicks, your MIDI controller, or sequencer. For sound generation you can choose the oscillator or sampler mode. A database will hold and sort your wav or MP3 files. A collection of close to 300 MP3 samples is included. If a peer is connecting, you will see and hear him live thru a new instrument window. In addition to making music, you can also chat with each other. And you're not limited to connection with just one other person - create an entire virual band if you like. peerSynth is free to download and use. The Pro version, which allows MP3 recording and distribution as well as MIDI support is 29 Euro.
