Tama launched two new Limited Edition TotalWood snares at the Summer NAMM Show in 2004.

Said Jon Romanowski, Tama's U.S. National Sales Manager, "The new snares feature 100% select maple shells with an outer ply of rare Bird's Eye maple. For players who prefer a brighter tone, the ABE655M features hoops of maple. Players who want a somewhat darker tone will likely prefer the AB655C, which features cherry hoops."
