London Solo Strings from Big Fish Audio was designed to be a playable string library out of the box. Load it up and start playing. It is available as a GigaSampler format library and as a virtual instrument based on Kontakt Player supporting a variety of plug-in formats.
Violin, Viola, Cello and the oft-omitted Double-Bass are all here. Each instrument was sampled in 24 bit resolution, played by performers with top of the line instruments including a beautiful violin from 1740. Articulations include: arco, marcato, martele, spiccato, sul tasto, ponticelli, ponticelli tremolo, half step and whole step trills, tremolo, pizzicato, ricochet, short, medium and long crescendos, harmonics, Bartok (snap) pizzicato plus a huge assortment of FX per instrument.
The library is 3.75 GB in size, and includes Round Robin programs for the Kontakt Player version, and keyswitching programs for both versions.
The Kontakt Player instrument supports DXi2, VST, RTAS, and AU formats.
MSRP for both the Giga and Kontakt Player versions is $399.95.
