AMS Neve congratulates Neve-owner AR Rahman on winning two awards –for a compilation from the score to Slumdog Millionaire and for Jai Ho, the movie's hit song – at the 2010 Grammys. The recognition caps a trophy-studded year for the composer, including the Critics' Choice Award, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music.
The first Indian to win two Academy Awards (Best Original Music Score and Best Original Song, also for Slumdog Millionaire), he is the most successful Asian musician ever, and one of the biggest-selling recording artists of all time.
In addition to being a composer and performer, AR Rahman is closely involved in the production of his music. His own studio complex in Chennai, AM Studios (previously known as Panchathan Record Inn), has a 1,300 sq ft scoring stage capable of holding up to 30 musicians and – in the control room – a Neve 88R console.
