From Sweden comes Broomstick Bass, a virtual bass player for VST compatible host applications, engineered by Bornemark Software, the creators of the concepts for instruments like Groove Agent and Virtual Guitarist. Broomstick Bass is the next self-playing musical instrument, intended to be used as a session partner, composition assistant or a bass sound archive.

Broomstick Bass comes with its own music. The plug-in is loaded with easy-to-use bass riffs and grooves. The user just has to play some chords and Broomstick Bass follows the harmonies. There are loads of patterns for inspiration and composition, as well as a manual mode for playing your own bass lines.

Broomstick Bass features:

  • More than 20 multi sampled classic and special bass instruments: electric and acoustic (recorded with pick, fingers, vibrato etc), keyboard and pedal basses.
  • A real time musical MIDI engine that provides common, characteristic and specialized self-playing bass lines, all categorised.
  • All bass guitars have been recorded with a variety of common practice performances, including slide up and down, staccato, hammer-ons and pull-offs -- all easily accessible via MIDI
  • A selection of bass-effects (on the Edit page) to help the bass lines cut through any mix.

Broomstick Bass has also been designed with expandability in mind. Expect further bass lines and instruments to become available as free downloads in the future.

Broomstick Bass is expected to be releasd on October 1st, 2004 at Music Dealers worldwide for Euro 209,- excl. V.A.T.
