Make and sell your own CDs

You make music, right? How come then you don't have your own CD to sell? Or do you...?
Make and sell your own CDs

If you make music then you must be looking for an outlet for it. You could perform of course, and many people do.

But the ultimate outlet for many is to get signed by a record label and release CDs.

The problem is that getting signed is, er, just a little difficult. Hah - it's impossible!

Of course you could get signed by a small label and sell a thousand CDs or so. That's not impossible, and it is certainly nice to get your music out there.

But still, there is an element of 'not being in control' about it. You are dependent on other people to value your music, and invest in the production of CDs and their marketing.

So why not do it yourself?

This is perfect. Record a CD, get it manufactured and sell it at your concerts and on your website.

It doesn't cost all that much to get a CD manufactured these days, and you only need to sell a hundred or so to cover your expenses.

But clearly you would like to sell more. In an ideal world you would get a thousand made, sell them in a couple of months, then order some more.

You would be making money. Perhaps it could even become enough to call it a living. Some people do.

But still, you need more outlets for your CDs. The more 'channels' you have to the market, the more you can sell and the more profitable and satisfying your enterprise can be.

So...

I'm going to pause here. I have much more to say on this subject, but right now I'm going to ask you if you already have a CD available?

I don't mean a one-off demo CD that you made in your computer. I mean a bulk manufactured CD - something that could sell in a record store.

If you do, send a copy to Audio Masterclass
