I used a freestanding 8-TRACK ROLAND DAW DISCLAB CDX-1 (2003 MODEL) with built-in disc burner. I love this unit which has been dependable and needed only 1 tune-up in 5 years.

I performed all the instruments and vocals by using a (1) 1996 Yamaha 220 synthesizer for drum and percussion programming on tracks 1 and 2 and combined doublebass strings and orchestral strings for track 5; (2) a PRS Billy Martin SE electric guitar directly inlined into the Roland DAW using the module's guitar tremolo twin reverb amp effects on tracks 3 and 4 up to the final chorus, then switching to a heavier overdrive effect with moderate use of digital delay for the final chorus. (3)

For the lead vocal, I recorded through Electrovoice's RAVEN model microphone on tracks 7 and 8, opting to use one of the Roland's pre-set vocal patches for light compression, EQ, and noise suppression. Track 6 was employed only toward the last 15 seconds of the song for the vocal echo of sung title, with high level of digital delay to create the aura of "otherwordliness" and sonic dispersion.

Since mixing and mastering tools are provided with the ROLAND CDX-1 DISCLAB, I performed these myself.

This song was submitted as an entry to the American Idol Songwriters Competition this past March 31,2008 by myself and my songwriting partner Donna Munaco.
