HOAG INSTRUMENTS reinvents the BLUES GUITAR

HOAG INSTRUMENTS reinvents the BLUES GUITAR Hoag optical pickup guitars have often been said to have an 'acoustic' sound quality. This is because of its full frequency response, from a few hertz to well over human hearing. This range of sound is more than is needed for the blues guitar. Hoag has enhanced the mid and high range audio signals of their blues guitar, which has given it a 'punch' with an acoustic appeal. The beginning of blues guitars are traced back to the early 1900s, when inexpensive guitars were made available to the musicians. Soon the race was on to develop sounds that would make each musician unique. The use of slides, bends and many styles of string picking, made some musicians early recording stars. The acoustic guitars would transition into the use of contact and magnetic pickups and later they would use solid body guitars. The musicians would again experiment, striving for that special sound. This is of course is where we are today, musicians desiring a sound which would allow them to be unique. Hoag Instruments answered this challenge and is offering their optical pickup blues guitar, HOAG BL (blues in the light). This sound is acoustic and solid body combined. Make your own judgement and listen to the sound sample on their web site. www.opticalguitars.com
