AXL amplifiers has unveiled the ThinAmp, a full-featured portable DSP (digital signal processing) guitar amplifier capable of cranking out 10W of sound anywhere, anytime. The ThinAmp's space-saving design at 5.3lbs and 2 inches thick makes it comparable in size to many laptops computers.
As a portable electronic device, the ThinAmp is capable of delivering sound from a variety of sources. Equipped with auxiliary inputs and outputs located conveniently on the amp's front panel, the ThinAmp can be used as a speaker system for audio devices such as MP3 and CD players. The amp comes with power adapter and a car adapter, plus a rechargeable battery pack sold separately makes the ThinAmp playable for up to 3-hours.
Along with a standard 1/4" input, a 1/4" output for recording or headphones, and volume controls, the amp has a 3-band equalizer (bass, middle, treble) and digital effects including:
- Digital Delay
The ThinAmp has a list price of $189, which includes power and car adapters, padded carrying case and instruction manual. The 3-hour rechargeable battery pack lists at $69.95. The ThinAmp is available at any music store carrying products from The Music Link and AXL.
